Eric Morrissette

Town Commission
Title: Acting Clerk Commissioner - District 1
Phone: 954-290-2584

Erik Morrissette brings a wealth of business and cultural experience to his role as Commissioner of the Town of Pembroke Park. Born in Montreal, Canada, to a Canadian father and a Danish mother, Erik learned to appreciate and navigate different cultures from an early age, a skill he applies daily as Commissioner to the town’s diverse resident population.

Armed with a college degree in farm management, he brings over 40 years of diverse business experience across industries including optics, printers, satellites, and senior living management. His career has spanned roles from sales and technical support to CEO, with professional engagements in Denmark, Sweden, Wales, Canada, and the United States.

As a resident of Pembroke Park, Erik engaged with the town’s Commission for several years to try to effect change on specific issues affecting his fellow residents. Eventually, someone suggested he run for office and, in April 2023, he ran for and was elected Commissioner of District 1 of the Town of Pembroke Park. His promise was to bring his leadership skills and his broad-based expertise to making Pembroke Park a better place for all to live.

As Commissioner, including his tenure as Vice Mayor, Erik has been appointed to the Legislation Commission of the Solid Waste Authority and to the Broward League of Cities, Florida League of Cities, and National League of Cities, where he contributes by constantly asking the question “why” of all undertakings and legislation. “Why do we want to do this? How will it help the residents of Broward County and the residents of Pembroke Park?”

As Pembroke Park is home to several mobile home parks – and the town advocates for mobile homes as a viable, affordable housing solution – Erik is active with the Federation of Manufactured Homeowners of Florida (FMO) and the Florida Mobile Home Relocation Corporation (FMHRC). In these roles, he advocates for the improvement of the rights and protections for mobile homeowners.

Within the Commission, Erik’s projects again focus on what improves the lives of town residents. He applies his leadership, analytical, and personal skills as a liaison to the Police and Fire/Rescue Departments, as well as addressing issues such as stormwater management, free Narcan distribution, energy security through solar, and a mobile home tie-down program.

 Erik’s term runs until 2027.
